Earlier this week, Hillary Clinton suggested that she might sit out a key MSNBC debate at the end of this month (and just before key final primaries), after reporter David Shuster said that her campaign had been “pimping out Chelsea Clinton in a weird sort of way.” Obviously, she’s not actually going to sit out the debate — that would be insane. But what’s more interesting is the enormous stink that her campaign is raising over the matter. “Over-the-top” would be an understatement.
My guess is that she’s trying to gain some more of those famous womanly sympathy points that she got by breaking down and crying in early January.
She’ll probably rethink her non-participatory threats now that Obama has swept Saturday’s primaries.
