The Writers Guild of America has scored blow after public relations blow against the producers guild during their strike, turning the tide of public perception against the producers, who have lost hundreds of millions of dollars in the last few months thanks to the work stoppage.
Now, perhaps the biggest casualty of the strike yet has bitten the dust. The Golden Globes award ceremony has been canceled, for fear of actors, directors, and of course writers who would boycott the ceremony. And on top of that, the directors guild has not held negotiation talks with the producers union, and it’s not thought that they will until the WGA deal gets done.
It has been officially replaced by a press conference.
